This policy covers the Cold Grid Studio watch faces for Garmin devices (Kaamos Chrome and Colonial Watch) and this website. The short version: the watch faces keep everything on your watch, and this website does not track you.

Who we are

Cold Grid Studio is based in Finland and is the controller for any personal data described here. Contact: support@coldgrid.io.

The watch faces

The watch faces run entirely on your watch. They have no network access, send nothing to us or to anyone else, and contain no analytics or advertising.

To play the game, they read data that your watch already collects:

• steps, intensity minutes, heart rate, stress and Body Battery from the watch’s own activity data
• your heart rate zones, sleep window and step goal from your Garmin user profile
• Kaamos Chrome only: the watch’s last known location, to work out local sunset and sunrise times

This data is processed on the watch. The watch face stores only its own game state there, such as progress, unlocked story entries and your settings. Uninstalling the watch face removes it.

Purchases are handled by Garmin through the Connect IQ Store. We do not receive your payment details. Garmin’s own privacy policy applies to your Garmin account, the Connect IQ Store and Garmin Connect.

This website

coldgrid.io uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.

• When you unlock a shard or a story with a code, the unlocked text and its code are stored in your own browser (local storage, cg-avatut-kaamos-chrome and cg-avatut-colonial-watch) so you do not have to enter the code again. Clearing your site data removes them.
• The code check happens in your browser. Codes are not sent to us.
• A transfer link carries your codes in the part of the address after #. Browsers do not send that part to the server. The link can stay in your browser history and wherever you paste it, so treat it like the codes themselves.
• The page games remember whether you turned them off (cg-ice, cg-tutka), and the Colonial Watch page remembers for the session that you have seen its start-up screen (cw-kaynnistys, session storage).
• Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.

Email

If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to answer you and keep the correspondence for as long as it is needed for support or to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Write to support@coldgrid.io. You can also lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
